Boyle County is the namesake of U.S. Representative and Kentucky Court of Appeals Chief Justice John Boyle. It was formed in 1842 from parts of Lincoln and Mercer Counties and is home to Centre College in Danville and the Perryville Battlefield. Boyle County contains 183 square miles and is home to over 28,000 individuals. The County Seat of Danville is also home to the Constitution Square Historic site.
